Maria Ruhe
Dartington Years 1961 - 1967

Symphony of Lines
Crayon and coloured pencil on paper

Maria Ruhe taught Art and Pottery at Aller Park.

She grew up in Potsdam and her family had moved into the British Sector when Berlin was partitioned. She was always an Anglophile and chose to study at the Central School of Art and Design in London before coming to work with Bernie Forrester at Dartington Hall School.
After a serious head injury caused by a bicycle accident near the Foxhole quarry in 1967 she returned to Berlin. In later years she has developed pottery workshops for those living in sheltered accommodation in Spandau.
